Mission

The EKGDX team's mission:

1- Create an online multi-language educational platform focused on electrocardiogram, where the learning process is easy, interactive and accessible from anywhere in the world.

2- Develop a diagnostic tool for electrocardiogram using artificial intelligence.

History

During the planning of our Artificial Intelligence project (currently under development), we identified a big problem, and consists of not having a considerable amount (hundreds of thousands of images) of EKGs. To solve this issue, we decided to create a software that allows us to generate any kind of EKG, while giving us the ability to modify each wave, interval, and segment in terms of amplitude and duration. This is how we create the best EKG simulator that has ever existed. When we realized the educational potential of the platform, Dr. Roig (Founder and Author) decided to write the educational content and thus the educational part was born.

Chronology

February 2017 - The planning of the Artificial Intelligence project was started.

May 2017 - The project was put on hold due to a lack of electrocardiograms (hundreds of thousands needed).

June 2017 - Albert Roig (co-founder) presented to Pedro Novales (co-founder) the idea of â€‹â€‹creating an “EKG Simulator” as a solution to create the images database of EKGs.

September 2017 - Started the "EKG Simulator" development.

December 2017 -  The project was named as EKGDX.

August 2018 - Progress was achieved, but the results were not as expected.

October 2018 - The EKGDX software was restructured.

January 2019 - The teaching potential of the EKGDX platform became more obvious and the educational contents were expanded to include guidelines, cardiac trials, references, heart sounds, question banks, 3D animations, graphic explanations, coronary angiograms, and echocardiograms to name a few.

March 2020 - The EKGDX was launched in honor of Sir Thomas Lewis, who wrote the first EKG book in 1913 and died in March 1945.

July 2020 - Started the development of the EKGDX App for iOS and Android.

January 2021 - We announced a collaborative partnership with the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).

February 2021- We began working on Volume II (Set A) consisting of 100 actual EKG cases that simulate the ABIM Certification Exam in Cardiovascular Diseases, EKG Section.

May 2022: Volume II (Set A) was completed but the release was postponed until the EKGDX App is ready.

August 2022: The EKGDX App is ready. The process of submit the App to the App Store and Google Play has started.

September 2022: The EKGDX App was finally approved, and the official launch was scheduled for September 29, in commemoration of World Heart Day

December 2022: We hit 12,500 users accros the world.

April 2023: We hit 20,000 users accros the world.

June 2023: EKGDX was presented at the Inter-American Congress of Cardiology (SIAC), Panama 2023.

July 2023: We started the Echocardiogram project.

September 2023: We hit 30,000 users accros the world.

November 2023: We hit 35,000 users accros the world.

EKGDX is exclusively developed by Roinova Corporation.
