Let’s talk about sinus bradycardia.

Sinus bradycardia is characterized by normal sinus P waves at the rate <60 bpm.

Criteria

Note the sinus P waves with regular P-P interval at a rate of 56 bpm. 

 

Another example of sinus bradycardia. 

Possible causes:

  • Trained athletes
  • High vagal tone
  • During sleep
  • PE
  • Inferior MI
  • Sick sinus
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Drugs (beta-blockers, amiodarone, verapamil, diltiazem, etc.)
  • Others
