Ventricular fibrillation (VF) is a self perpetuating cycle of uncoordinated ventricular depolarisation resulting in disordered and ineffective contraction of the ventricles. VF is the the most important shockable cardiac arrest rhythm.

Chaotic irregular deflections (varies amplitude).

Types of VF

Fine VF: waveforms measure <3 mm.
Coarse VF: waveforms measure ≥3 mm.
